Take Back your Website
We've all been there, in the company who's website looks the same from one month to the next. We know that the only way it's going to get updated is once the management have finally got round to freeing up the funds to let the web agency make the changes. The web agency, that is, that will no doubt take a few hours to make the change, and then charge through the nose for the privilege.
Or, we have to wait for the employee, who's hand it was went up in the meeting about who wouldn't mind going on a course to learn how to update the website, to find some time outside of their normal busy schedule to make necessary updates to the website.
This no longer needs to be the case. These days there are several different ways to update the relevant areas of the website yourself. This is made possible using Content Management Systems, often called CMS, which are normally web browser based solutions, allowing the customer to edit various sections of their website without any need for HTML, or any real technical knowledge at all.
There are many such systems on the market: Enterprise Solutions, Hosted Solutions, Open Source Solutions...the list goes on. For many companies all these are a bridge too far, requiring in most cases some sort of IT implementation on the web servers, which defeats the object as there wasn't enough technical knowhow in the first place.
The solution is a Bespoke Content Management System. These are systems that are designed specifically for your company's needs, allowing the freedom to edit the areas that need to be updated, and leaving all the other features "in-the-box". This means that the price of the solution is geared to the number of functions that you actually require.
The savings in this case are obvious: no more web agency fees, no more dedicated HTML employee (they can get on with their job!) and you only pay for the Content Management functions that you actually require.
One such solution is called WIRES Content Management System. WIRES stands for Website with Integrated Real-time Editing System, and is provided by Matt Ormrod Web Services Ltd. These WIRES sites are designed along with the client to identify exactly which elements will need to be managed, and as such only these elements are provided in the final package.
It's time to regain control of your company's website. Invest in CMS.
